The Hungarian Ministry for Innovation and Technology organized an expert-level IPCEI V4+Austria Conference (Important Projects for the Common European Interest – IPCEI) in Budapest on 31 March 2022. During the conference, representatives of the participating countries presented their IPCEI coordination strategies and outlined their past milestones on the field of Microelectronics, Hydrogen, Cloud, and Health industry.

The event – which fits into the official program schedule of the Hungarian V4 Presidency – was opened by Hungary voicing strong support for IPCEIs and underlined the strategic value of regional cooperation with the V4 countries and Austria. The representatives of the partner countries wholeheartedly welcomed the initiative and expressed their agreement for further long-term cooperation. They agreed that the current industry tool should include more ownership and coordination from the European Commission’s side and agreed to work together closely on proposing solutions to their common challenges.

Further online discussions and work will take place within the V4+AT countries in the future. The next meeting of this format will be organised by the incoming Slovak Presidency.
