Strengthening relations between the V4 countries in the field of tourism, culture, education, science and sports has been an important goal of Visegrad cooperation since its beginning. The Hungarian Presidency pays special attention to these areas, which is even more important after a long period of restrictions on mobility and public events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tourism

V4 cooperation in the field of tourism dates back 18 years and includes joint promotional activities worldwide. Global travel has been severely restricted due to COVID but the reopening of the borders enables our citizens and other visitors to (re)discover the unique natural, cultural and touristic treasures of this region at the heart of Europe, which attracts tourists from all over Europe. To support the recharging of our regions’ economies and people-to-people contacts, touristic cooperation continues during the Hungarian V4 Presidency, coordinated by the Hungarian Tourism Agency which also organises events in Hungary to draw public attention to Visegrad cooperation (see https://v4elnokseg.hu/ in Hungarian).
