The Financial Services Committee of the EU (FSC) is the high-level expert forum on financial regulatory issues in the Council. The V4 countries traditionally had annual FSC expert meetings to coordinate their work in the Council and exchange best practices, which was temporarily interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hungarian V4 Presidency relaunched the consultations by holding a videoconference on 10 February 2022 on payment issues, and most recently, a full V4 FSC expert meeting on 21-22 April in Budapest.

The meeting focused on the current legislative issues of the EU. In this context, experts discussed the Capital Market Union legislative proposals from the end of 2021, the banking regulatory proposal implementing Basel III international standards and the proposals related to insurance regulation

In the area of national initiatives, participants discussed the development of financial awareness and visited Hungary's recently opened Money Museum.

The next V4-FSC meeting is planned for 2023 Spring under the Slovak V4 Presidency.
