As part of the 3rd Budapest LNG Summit, a high-level V4 Energy Panel took place in Budapest on 6 December with the participation of governmental representatives from the Visegrad countries: Dóra Zombori (Hungary), Vaclav Bartuška (Czechia), Juraj Siváček (Slovakia) and Sławomir Sieradzki (Poland). The panel was moderated by Pál Ságvári, vice president of the Hungarian Energy Authority (HEA).

The panellists agreed that natural gas will continue to play a significant role in the region, and there is a further need to diversify routes and sources. They also addressed issues, such as the current high energy prices and the security of supply for Ukraine. The V4 representatives agreed that the EU’s Taxonomy Regulation should be adopted as soon as possible, and nuclear energy along with natural gas should get the green stamp in order to accelerate away from coal.
