V4 Ministers of Agriculture met for the second time under the Hungarian V4 Presidency on 4 March in the historic town of Visegrád. The meeting focused on the strategic plans of the Common Agricultural Policy and was attended by Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, who gave the ministers first-hand information on the European Commission's position.
The ministers adopted a joint declaration on the CAP strategic plans following the meeting. The V4 agreed that the Common Agricultural Policy should also contribute to the fight against climate change. However, the current war situation in Ukraine has created new challenges. The Green Deal must therefore be reviewed to ensure that European security of supply is not jeopardised in any way.
