The Ministry of Technology and Industry of Hungary, with the participation of representatives and experts from the Visegrad countries, Romania, Bulgaria and South Korea, held a high-level climate policy consultation, involving civil society and financial actors.The conference focused on national climate policy efforts, international climate policy processes, climate finance, and the activities of non-state actors in climate protection.
Participants included the Chief Negotiator for Climate Policy of the European Union, representing Poland, and the Head of the Climate Action Delegation of the Czech Republic, as President-in-Office of the EU. In addition to the climate protection measures of the governmental sector, the event also featured presentations of the climate protection measures of non-state actors, with the participation of the Green Policy Center, the V4SDG and the Budapest office of the Global Green Growth Institute. The Western Balkans Green Centre and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank also presented their climate finance results at the conference.
The conference was organised as a follow-up to the Hungarian V4 Presidency's event on 7 September 2021. The current consultation provided a good opportunity to prepare for COP27, to be held in November.
