V4+Canada Political Directors’ meeting

The political directors of the V4 countries met with their Canadian counterpart Daniel J. Costello, Assistant Deputy Minister and Political Director to discuss matters of common interest. The Agenda of the meeting included NATO and CSDP aspects of European and transatlantic security. The participants also reviewed the Middle East Peace Process and the situation of Libya as well as recent developments in Afghanistan.

V4 Panel at the Budapest LNG Summit

As part of the 3rd Budapest LNG Summit, a high-level V4 Energy Panel took place in Budapest on 6 December with the participation of governmental representatives from the Visegrad countries. The panellists agreed that natural gas will continue to play a significant role in the region, and there is a further need to diversify routes and sources. They also addressed issues, such as the current high energy prices and the security of supply for Ukraine

Presidents of the Visegrad Group met in Budapest on 29 November 2021 to discuss the future of the Visegrad Cooperation and the role of our region in the changing geopolitical landscape. Presidents adopted a joint statement regarding the situation on the borders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia and on the COVID-19 situation.

Extraordinary Summit of V4 Prime Ministers

Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group held an extraordinary meeting on 23 November in Budapest, initiated by the Polish Prime Minister. Leaders discussed the economic and geopolitical aspects of migration in face of the growing migratory pressure on the EU, while Mateusz Morawiecki briefed his V4 counterparts about the latest developments on the Polish-Belarusian border situation.
